Eco Bee Shop (1097078-M) has been established since 2002 by our director, Cathie Tan. She came to realize how amazing the bee products can work on human when she was suffered from ill health back in her stress working days. It was unbelievable that after years of unsuccessful drugs treatments, the bees have restored her health in the end! Since then, a passion towards bee study and beekeeping have implanted in her. She studied thoroughly about the benefits and potential uses of bee products on human health which is now called as apitherapy. Her personal testimony from raw honey consumption and an in depth knowledge about bee products have brought life changing experience to many people especially the patients.
To produce functional active raw honey, bees need a stress-free environment with less human disturbance. Beside, the beekeeping area must be filled with plentiful of flowering plants throughout the years. Thus, forest is the best place to keep bees because this is where they belong. However, there are many attributes contributing to flower blooming season in tropical rainforests. It means that flowers will not bloom all year long and a fix beekeeping area can barely meet the high demand of honey production with natural floral resources. Hence, Cathie and her husband discovered an extraordinary way of beekeeping, mobile bee farm. This practice does not limit our bees with fixed type of flora but we carry them from one forest to another throughout Southern of Malaysia. Mobile bee farming exposed the bees with abundant natural resources and also keeping them from pesticides. In return, bees provide pollination to the forests which enhanced forest resilience to mitigate climate change.
Through our farming system, it allows us to produce genuine premium quality bee products without sucrose feeding, antibiotic and pesticides that can weakens their health. Yet, all of our goods are selling at a fair price. Our products are money back guaranteed to assure our consumers that the products they purchased are not adulterated.
Many will say that conservation program is much easier said than done. Yet, we are on our way of doing it to save the bees. We perform sustainable bees conservation by rescue some bee colonies from the logging area. Other activities like BeeTalk and workshop are aimed to educate the public and raise public awareness on saving the bees. We are currently collaborating with universities such as University Technology Malaysia (UTM) and University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) for research-based study and many more in the future. To save the bees, we can’t do it alone, we need your hands together to make things happen.
